Home/The Homestead
Homestead backgammon board in chocolate and buckskin leather, set up for play
Made to order
Description

The Homestead is built to sit still. It lies flat on a wood backing, with the points inlaid or stitched into the face. It does not fold, so it stays flat, on a table or on a wall.

Points are laid or stitched by hand on vegetable-tanned leather, dyed in the studio rather than bought pre-colored. The dye takes differently across a hide, which is why no two boards are exactly alike and why there is no on-screen preview of yours.

Care
01
Keep it out of the sun

Veg-tan darkens where light hits it. A board left half in a window will tan unevenly and stay that way.

02
Wipe, do not wash

A dry cloth for dust, a barely damp one for a spill. Never soap, never a soak — water lifts hand-dye.

03
Condition once a year

A neutral leather balm, worked in thin and buffed off.
