A Homestead lies flat on a wood backing. It does not fold. At 29½ × 23½ in. it takes most of a table, with room at the edges for dice and players, and it hangs on a wall when the game is over. The oxblood is the reason to hang it: from across a room it reads as magenta-red, and the points read as pattern.

Oxblood leather with black and natural points. 7–9 oz vegetable-tanned leather in a mocha-stained birch frame.
